Hey guys!

My name is Austin Barry. I go by Austin, or you can call me Big Texas, some of my friends do for reasons explained later. I was born in Atlanta, Ga, and have lived here my whole life. I currently go to Georgia Tech in Atlanta where I am studying Business IT, and hope to go into some type of consultating afterwards. I love Atlanta and GT, and feel like I am exactly where God wants me to be which is a super comforting feeling.

I grew up going to Church with my fam, and went to a Christian high school, so I was pretty sheltered growing up. It was a big shock going to a public university (even though it is a nerdy one), and I learned real quick that it was time to take ownership of my faith. It took a while, but through an awesome Bible study, and mentor, I started really taking my walk with Christ seriously during this past year. I felt a gentle nudge to look into going on a mission trip this summer during first semester last year. I had always wanted to go on one in High School, but I played baseball all year round, and never got the chance. I did go on weekend trips and such, but nothing more than that. I heard about this trip from my mom, and recently met someone who had gone on it a couple years ago. It sounded like something I would love to do, and I just recently got accepted (barely made the admission due date, clutch). I can't wait to see the challenges God has for me on this trip, and how my relationship with Him will grow stronger and stronger, and I can't wait to meet all y'all!

Fun Facts:

- Played baseball all my life and love watching it, but since I don't play baseball anymore, I've used tennis to fill the competitive void in my life, and I LOVE it. I play at least 3 times a week, and play in a chill league. GT also has the tennis channel on cable so when I'm not studying I'm probably checking that out.. and I'm a HUGE Braves fan!

- Even though I was born in Atlanta, I consider myself a Texan. All of my family except for me and my sister were born in Texas and you have no clue how bad I wish I was. Crazy story: the first ground my feet legitimately touched was Texas red clay. My awesome G-pa drove all the way from Texas to Atlanta with a bucket of Texas dirt, picked me up, and put my feet in it before they ever touched the hospital floor. I have your stereotypical crazy Texas family, true story. Hook em' Horns.

- Favorite restaurants: Chick-fil-a (saw some of y'all worked there, join the club, that place rocks), Zaxby's, any Mexican food, Taco Mac for anyone who knows what that is.

- Speak 'ok' spanish, and hope this trip will help with that. Just got done registering for Spanish 1101 for next semseter: easy A after this.

- Love being outside, try to take a camping trip once or twice a semester and like going mountain biking when I don't have busy weekends.

- Lastly, and most importantly I love Jesus and think a relationship with Him and His children are the most important things you can have on this Earth. Can't wait to see y'all, and go on this awesome trip!

My Uncle, Me, My pops in that order. Hook 'em.
