Hi everyone, I'm Megan,

I'm currently living in Spokane, Washington. I've been here for only a month because I just transferred to Moody Bible Institute-Spokane this semester. I love it so much here but I'm really from the suburbs of Chicago which is where I'll be when I leave for Training Camp!

Like I said above, I just started going to Moody and it's incredible! I feel so blessed to be able to learn so much about our amazing God in school now! I transferred from Illinois State University- this is my third year of college. I'm going into Biblical Studies, and hope to use it to either be a missionary, work with refugees, or who knows, whatever God brings my way!

I haven't had a job since I got to Washington, but I was working at Steak n Shake before I got here! Money I saved up from that is going towards school right now, but my parents are helping out as well.

I love hanging out with friends and basically doing whatever. I'm very ino journaling, crafts, all that girly pintresty stuff! The community I have here at Moody is incredible, I've been here for just a month but I feel so close to these people already! We usually just do homework- there's a ton of that here...and eat meals together and stuff.

I've only been a Christian for about two years now. I'm the only one in my family- imediate and extended, so it's been an interesting experience. Things are definitly better and I've learned to hold my tongue (this was really hard to do as a super excited new Christian in a non-Christian environment) and I love my family very much. Just gotta keep praying and showing them love! Since moving to Washington I have been deprived of one of my deepest loves- greasy fried foods. They just don't do it here like they do it in Chicago! The first thing I'm going to do when I get home for Spring Break is get a gigantic burger from Portillos... I have a minor in Spanish that I got at ISU. There isn't much diversity out in Washington either so I'm afraid I'm going to be rusty with my Spanish when we get out to Nicaragua. I'll just have to practice through journaling and stuff I guess!

I've only been on one other missions trip before when I went to Minneapolis for two weeks with my campus ministry. It was amazing but I'm sure this will be an entirely different experience because I wont be in the states and instead of two weeks I will be two months!

I am sooooooo excited for this trip. I really want to see what it is like to be out on the missions feild, and really want to get my feet wet and hopefully see if this is something God is leading me to do in the long run. I cannot wait to meet Nicaraguans and learn all about their culture and lives. I am very excited to be able to put these Spanish skills to the test. The thing I am excited and as well a little nervous for (in a good way) is to see what God is going to do through this experience. I know He is going to do amazing things, and I just pray that I am willing to let Him work through me in anyway He wants to.

So thats a summary of me! I cannot wait to meet you all and glorify Him through this trip!

See ya soon!

Megan
