Hello everyone! My name is Kyla, but some people call me Ky. You can call me whatever though, I don’t mind.

    I live in Winfield, a very small town in Pennsylvania. I was studying Biology this past fall at Shippensburg University, but my plans have changed and right now I am just working part time. I work in a bakery at a restaurant called The Country Cupboard. Before I went to college my mind was set on going to school for six years because I had so many people telling me it’s the only way to get a good paying job and to have a nice life. Over the past few months I realized that I don’t ever want to become settled by what people tell me. I love change. I love newness. My only goal in life is that I serve God in whatever I do and learn to love like Jesus does. So at the moment I am going through life day by day and It’s great! I am so excited for the trip to Nicaragua and I believe God will show me what direction to move in my life.

    I enjoy being outdoors, especially in the summer time. I love warm weather, so I hope to move south someday. I like to hike, roller skate, swim, and ride crazy roller coasters! A few months back I went skydiving for the first time. It was one of the best feelings I have ever experienced and I hope to do it again, along with other adventurous things! I love to travel and experience new places. The farthest I have gone from home was along the west coast and into Canada, but I hope to travel around the world and learn about different cultures. I enjoy artsy things like painting and photography. My best friend and I go weekly to a pottery class, so that is always fun! I also like working out and recently have been going to planet fitness. I love spontaneous things!

    Going to Nicaragua is going to be my first mission experience. I am so excited to meet new people and especially grow in my relationship with God. I am not very nervous at all. I know God will be working through us and teaching us awesome new things.
