Hello,
My name is Chase McKnight. l am a home schooled senior in high school. I plan to attend Evangel University in the fall with an anticipated major of biochemistry. I do not take school lightly since i believe God has called me to apply myself to everything as unto Him. I have always enjoyed math and sciences classes which led me to biochemistry.
I have been playing the saxophone since i was ten and currently play in the St. Charles County Home school swing band. I am the first chair saxophone and enjoy a leadership position in the group. I have also played the piano since i was six but stopped taking lessons when i was sixteen so my once great skills have diminished significantly. I enjoy listening to music but since i am in a time in my life where money is tight i generally end up listening to the radio(incredibly lame, i know).
I am currently employed at Chic Fil A. I have literally worked every position or another in the last 11 months and absolutely love my job. I have a passion for serving people and "going the extra mile" to make peoples days brighter and ultimately, i hope, to give the costumers a tiny glimpse of the overwhelming love Christ has for us, His creation. I get this opportunity several times a day at my work. I would be unimaginably disapointed if i was the only Chic fil a lover on this trip (wink wink).
I started looking for a mission trip to go on about a year ago when i felt God leading me to make my walk radical. I knew the Christian life was not ment to be the passive float trip i was making it out to be. God has called every one of us to serve Him before anything else and so often this is simply not the case in my life. I found the trip to Nicaragua because my older brother had been on a similar trip three years ago and had a fantastic experience. I love kids with a passion and look forward to seeing how God will use this passion for His glory. I am also frantically trying to learn as much spanish as i can. I had two years in high school but remember very little of it. I recently got a spanish app for my phone so hopefully i wont be totally clueless when i get down there.
I have been reading many of your posts and i am beyond excited about embarking on this journey with all of you.
Can't wait to meet every one of you,
Chase
